About Agro Science Technology :
Agro Science Technology Expo is a first ever initiative to bring all Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s of India under one platform to showcase the innovations, experiments & expertise driven by centres.
Agro Science Technology is a multidisciplinary field covering natural, economic and social sciences etc.
- Production techniques (eg, irrigation management, recommended nitrogen inputs)
- Improving agricultural production in terms of quality and quantity (such as selection of drought-tolerant crops and livestock, development of new pesticides, agriculture-sensing technologies, simulation models of crop growth, in-vitro cell culture techniques)
- Improving agricultural production in terms of quality and quantity (such as selection of drought-tolerant crops and livestock, development of new pesticides, agriculture-sensing technologies, simulation models of crop growth, in-vitro cell culture techniques)
- Prevention and amelioration of adverse environmental impacts (such as soil degradation, waste management, bio-remediation)
- Theoretical Production Ecology
- Traditional agricultural systems involving crop production modelling - sometimes called 'subsistence agriculture' - feed the world's poorest. These traditional practices are interesting because they often maintain a greater level of integration with natural ecosystems than industrial agriculture, which is more sustainable than some modern agricultural systems.
The work done by agricultural scientists has an important role in increasing and maintaining agricultural productivity. Agricultural scientists study on agricultural crops and animals and prepare ways to improve their quantity and quality. They suggest ways to improve the quantity and quality of crops with less labour, control pests and weeds safely and effectively, and improve soil and water conservation. They conduct research related to methods of converting raw agricultural materials into food products that are palatable and healthy for consumers.

Many agricultural scientists work in basic or applied research and development. Others manage and operate research and development operations or manage marketing or production operations in companies that are engaged in the production, supply, and machinery of food products or agricultural chemicals. Some agricultural scientists work as consultants for business firms, private clients or the government.
